July 31, 2017 (7-6 White Sox)
This game was stupid. Marco Estrada, who yes, is still a Blue Jay, pitched a gem. For the first time since June 24 he pitched a quality start, 7 IP, 1 run, 4 hits, 1 walk and 5 strikeout. That’s AcEstrada mode. And the bats did things again scoring 6 runs but the usually reliable pen hit a bit of bump. Biagni who only got 1 out (in the 8th) gave up 3 runs, Tepera finished that inning but gave up a solo HR cutting the Jays 6-1 lead to 6-5. Then in the bottom of ninth Osuna was walked off after giving up 2 runs. That last 2 inning was painful to watch.
It’s been so long since we’ve gotten a quality start from Marco, but that’s a well deserved handshake.
A boy and his catcher.
Remember when this game was fun…
August 1, 2017 (8-4 Blue Jays)
Once again the bats had a good day. Every starter got a hit and for the second game in a row Donaldson hit a HR in the first inning. Smoak would also hit his 31st HR in the 5th contributing to the 8 runs the Jays scored. For the second day in a row, the Jays starting pitcher went at least 6 inning. Stro would go 7 innings giving up 4 runs, a walk, and 5 strikeouts. One only hopes that the Jays have more games like this.
The side effects of scoring from first on a double… when you’re Morales.
Congratulation Ryan Goins, you finally get to hold back someone shorter than you.

So not gonna lie, when I heard that the Jays were facing Derek Holland I was expect a little more runs to be scored. But I guess a win is a win and I should be happy with… But c’mon, it’s Derek Holland!
For the third game in a row Donaldson hit a HR, but because hitting HR in the first inning was getting to repetitive he decided to do in the ninth. Pearce also hit his 11th HR to help contribute to the 5 runs the Jays scored. And for the third game in a row the Jays once again got a least 6 innings from their starter. Happ was damn impressive and pitched 7 innings, giving up one 1 run in 6 hits, a walk, and 10 strikeouts! I know that the Jays are facing the worst team in the AL but man, it’s so nice to see them pitch so well.
This also happened cause of course,
Look at Justin Smoak’s smile. I didn’t know his face could do that.
Steve Pearce looks so uncomfortable doing his HR celebration with Travis. But bless him for trying.
Best HR celebration.
