Ladies and gents, our MVP.

09/29/2016: BAL @ TOR Today marks potentially the final game Edwin Encarnacion (and several other players including Jose Bautista and Brett Cecil) plays as Blue Jay in the SkyDome. We all knew it but it obviously wasn’t loss on Edwin.

Today marks potentially the final game Edwin Encarnacion (and several other players including Jose Bautista and Brett Cecil) plays as Blue Jay in the SkyDome. We all knew it but it obviously wasn’t loss on Edwin.

As he came back from third where he was left stranded in a shutout game by the Orioles you can clearly see him exhale deeply. As if he was fighting tears.

Then before he walks into the clubhouse he takes one more look at the place he has called home for so many years. A place where he went from no name who was an unwanted appendage to a trade to one of baseballs “quietest superstars.” A place where people went from mockingly nicknaming him E5 to one where people chanted “Ed-dy” in the most high leverage of times. And as final gesture, he waves his fingers as he’s seen 239 as Blue Jay.

Like many of you I do not believe at all that this will be his last game here in the SkyDome as Jay. But if it is, my god, what an image to remember such an amazing player that has brought us fans so much joy and excitement.
